The Absecon Education Foundation, Inc., founded in 1993, is an independent, nonprofit, community-based organization. The mission of the Absecon Education Foundation is to:
"…identify and implement strategies and activities designed to support, enhance, expand and develop educational opportunities for students and residents of Absecon."

The goals of the Foundation are to:

  • Develop business, corporate and foundation resources to enhance educational programs and services for students and residents of Absecon;
  • Recognize the achievement of students through scholarships and awards;
  • Provide grants to encourage and enable teachers to explore new techniques and develop innovative educational projects;
  • Support the technology initiative; and
  • Provide resources for capital projects.

During the past year, the Foundation provided more than $30,000 to support school programs, projects and teacher grants. These funds supported the honors luncheon, after school tutorial program, book talk 2004, a trip to the Wetlands Institute, and the replacement of hardware in the Technology Education Lab.

Major fund-raising activities include the Pedal, Paddle, Run and Harvest Moon Dinner Dance held in October, a golf tournament in April and the City-Wide Yard Sale in June.

A Board of Trustees consists of school, community, business, and governmental leaders.
