Introduction

You are a time traveler, exploring the cultures of Native Americans during the 18th and 19th Centuries.  Unfortunately, your time machine has malfunctioned!  You are stranded somewhere in North America, but you don't know which tribe of Native Americans you are with.  There are thousands of tribes, each with it's own customs, or usual way of doing things.

Some tribes lived on very similar land.  They had the same trees to build with, the same animals to hunt, and the same weather to farm in.  Tribes that shared similar ideas, habits, and actions are said to belong to the same culture group.  Four important  groups were the Eastern Woodland, Plains, Southwest, and Northwest cultures.
