Please review the videos at your convenience and reach out to your child's teacher with any questions. Thank you! UPDATE: This PDF has been updated with Google Meet Links for our VIRTUAL Back to School Night 9/23/21.
REMINDER: All parents and students must complete and sign off on the District Use Agreement for Technology Devices form prior to being able to use/take home chromebooks.
Attales Family, in this video we explain how to read a student schedule in our block schedule system. It might look complicated but once you go through one day it's actually pretty easy. We're looking forward to getting our Attales Family back together next week as we start the 2021-2022 school year.
Attales Family, is this video our Principal, Mr. Burns, discusses a few of the special projects that were wrapped up over the summer and recognizes the efforts of our “Organization 32” volunteers (aka Student Summit) as well as our “Attales Avengers” (staff volunteers), BOE reps, and parent group volunteers who made much of this possible. Some of the topics discussed in this video include a proposal for a new grading scale and the rationale behind such a proposal, additional academic recognitions for our students, increased academic opportunities through additional specials, mindfulness breaks, and more. Join us for a virtual Parent/Principal Q&A on August 17th @ 2pm (meeting link will be available on our social media and our website). We hope our Attales Family is enjoying the summer and we look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks.
In May of this year, we held our first-ever Attales Student Summit where over 30 of our students got together to brainstorm ideas and think of ways to make our school even better. This project was designed to continue to find ways to include our students in the decision making process at Attales and to continue to reinforce to our students that their voice matters. This survey is a product of the hard work that our Student Summit volunteers put into making Attales even better in the years to come. Below is a list of various topics of study for possible future specials and/or electives. These ideas and topics below came out of our Student Summit and were then also linked with course offerings/career pathways at our area high schools and choice schools as well. The goal is to introduce our students to as many topics/concepts as we can during their 4 years at Attales so that our students can make informed decisions when they apply to area high schools/choice schools at the start of their 8th grade year. Expanding course opportunities will also let our students get a feel for various potential career pathways after high school and beyond. Our Attales students took this survey in June of this school year. At this point, we would also like to extend this opportunity to our Attales parent/guardian interest as well. We will then use the data from this parent survey along with our student survey data as we build out possible new specials and/or electives over the coming years. Please review the Student Summit survey below and select up to 4 choices from each category below regarding topics you would most like to see at Attales at some point in the coming years. The last day to complete this Attales Parent/Guardian survey will be next Thursday, July 29th. Mr. Burns and Mrs. Carver would like to send out a special THANK YOU to Marina H, Tommy C., and Matthew V., for volunteering to take on a leadership role in the creation of this Student Summit Survey! You guys are
On Friday, June 18th, our Attales Middle School Class of 2021 concluded their career with a beautiful, outdoor ceremony in front of their family and friends. A big thank you to Brian Mills and our facilities and grounds crews for doing such an outstanding job beautifying the front loop for our ceremony as well as Attales' own Mrs. Janice Clarke for her organization and attention to detail to ensure a smooth ceremony. We would also like to thank Mike Morris for the hours he spent setting up the stage, the sound, and video capabilities. Class of 2021, our entire Attales Family wishes you nothing but the best as you embark on your next journey in life. Remember…KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE HORIZON! Once a Crusader….Always a Crusader. Congrats to the Class of 2021!
On Friday, June 18th, we held our Second Annual End of Year Thank You Event. This event was for students who made it through the entire year without receiving one discipline referral or failing one class for the year. We had over 250 students in attendance! The kids had a blast! It was so nice to all be together again, outside, having fun, enjoying the company of others.
In our latest presentation of the Attales Sledgehammer, Lilia presents the Attales Sledgehammer to Mrs. Broomhead (Art) and lets her know how much she appreciates her positive attitude and artistic ability. Congratulations Mrs. Broomhead!
In our latest presentation of the Attales Sledgehammer, AnnaMaria and Brielle present the Attales Sledgehammer to Ms. Pelly (8th Grade) and let her know home much they have appreciated all she did this year to make learning fun. Congratulations Ms. Pelly!
In this final Students of the Marking Period message, we recognize our outstanding recipients for the 4th Marking Period of the 2020-2021 school year. Congratulations to all of our recipients. Have a great summer Attales Family!!!
Attales Middle School students have spent the year reading, writing, and presenting poetry. In honor of April's having been National Poetry Month, led by our very own Mr. Bob Evans (7th Grade Language Arts), over the last few weeks we've been putting together a series of videos involving students reading either their own poetry or poems they've read and enjoyed this school year. This is the third and final video in this series of our students' favorite works of poetry. The theme for Part Three is "The Things We Love". Enjoy and have a great summer Attales Family!!!
At our Attales Honors Brunch on June 11th, we gathered to recognize, honor, and celebrate the academic achievements of our Attales students who have earned the distinction of Honor Roll or High Honor Roll for the first three marking periods in what has been an unprecedented and challenging school year. The fact that these students, both in-person and all virtual, maintained such high honors in spite of the adversity this year is a testament to their character and grit and is just another example of what makes Attales Middle School a special place. The students honored today truly exemplify one of our mottos at the Attales Middle School….ADAPT….ADJUST...and OVERCOME. In keeping with tradition, our honors recipients were also joined today by graduates of the Attales Class 2017 (Katie, Gianna, Cian, Ethan, Hannah, Grace, and Kiera) who were kind enough to share lessons learned and words of wisdom with our students. Congratulations to all of our honors recipients and best wishes to our former Attales Class of 2017 who head off to college next year.
Attales Middle School students have spent the year reading, writing, and presenting poetry. In honor of April's having been National Poetry Month, led by our very own Mr. Bob Evans (7th Grade Language Arts), we thought it would be fun to put together a video of students reading either their own poetry or poems they've read and enjoyed this school year. This video is Part Two in a series documenting students' readings of their favorite works of poetry. The theme for Part Two is about relationships and their up's and down's. Enjoy!
