Several of Mrs. JoJo Martin’s 4th Grade Media Arts students traveled to the Lion’s Club Blind Center in Absecon on Nov. 8 to share games/mazes they created as part of their coursework.

Over the last few weeks, the students worked in groups with legos and other mediums to design mazes that could be used by the visually impaired.

Mrs. Martin explained that this collaboration was developed as a way to teach STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math); and also to support the local Lion's Club, which holds a special place for her as her father had always supported the club and its efforts.

"This project was inspired by F.I.R.S.T. Lego League (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). Allowing us to share the games or mazes with the blind or seeing impaired community is not only beneficial to our designers but a wonderful outreach to our seeing impaired community," Martin said.
