Sixth-grade student Jedidiah presented the Attales Middle School Sledgehammer to Ms. Hess on Thursday, Dec. 15.

The Sledgehammer is an award presented to the students and staff who serve as an inspiration to others through their hard work, dedication, compassion, perseverance and never-quit attitude.

A staff member or student who received the award presents the Sledgehammer to someone in the school who serves as an inspiration, and so on.

"This teacher comes in school smiling every week. She helps students when they are struggling on work. She is one kind teacher," Jedi said.
