Elks Contest Winners

Absecon's Attales Middle School is proud to have three winners in the 22-23 Elks Lodge Americanism Essay Contest!

Congratulations to Zidane Aminu, 3rd Place - 6th Grade Competition; Nina Perez, 2nd Place - 7th Grade Competition; and Hannah Cavileer, 1st Place - 7th Grade Competition.

The competition was open to all local middle school students. This year's topic was "What is your American Dream?"

"This contest is vitally important to Elks as it promotes Americanism in our local communities," wrote William J. Lindsey, chairman of the Grand Lodge Fraternal Committee. "It encourages 10- to 13-year-old students to thoughtfully consider American values and appreciate the blessings and responsibilities of citizenship."

Our local winners will recognized by the Galloway Elks Lodge #2845 during an Awards Ceremony Jan. 17 at the Lions Club Blind Center in Absecon.

Their essays will next be entered into the state contest. Winners have the opportunity to compete in the national contest for a chance at the $1,000 Grand Prize.
