 As so many families know, child care costs can take up a lot of the monthly budget. The New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Family Development (DFD) oversees the New Jersey Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), which can help income-eligible parents who are working, in school or in job training to pay for child care.

 Under contract to the NJ Department of Human Services, Division of Family Development, the Child Care Resource & Referral agencies, or CCR&Rs, administer the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) which helps income-eligible parents who are in school or working to pay for child care.

Located in every county, CCR&Rs have trained staff to provide information on the:

  • Availability of child care services provided through the Child Care Assistance Program;
  • Different types of child care providers; and
  • Other social service programs for which you may be eligible.
